Luminous Origins — A Projection Dialogue Between Faith, Science & Art

🎨 Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersection of faith, science, and human consciousness through immersive visual experiences.

My practice integrates digital media, storytelling, and light technology to transform public spaces into meditative encounters — illuminating how imagination, knowledge, and belief shape our collective identity.

Through my work, I seek to create environments where viewers can reflect on how wonder, inquiry, and spirituality coexist in the human experience.

💡 Project Overview

Luminous Origins is my large-scale projection-mapped light installation that transforms the façade of the Remai Modern into a living canvas of light and motion.

Through laser art, projection mapping, and sound, the project visualizes the unity of cosmic birth, biological evolution, and human consciousness — interpreting creation as a shared continuum between science and faith.

Key Themes

  • Light as Knowledge — photons become galaxies; data transforms into sacred geometry.
  • Matter & Meaning — neurons, roots, and stars pulse as one living system.
  • Human Reflection — the faces of Saskatoon’s community emerge in light, symbolizing consciousness bridging spirit and science.

Each movement is scored with an original soundscape I’m composing with collaborators, blending natural frequencies, heartbeat rhythms, and algorithmic tones.

🌍 Artistic Rationale

The Remai Modern Museum, a space that embodies both reflection and innovation, offers the ideal surface for this dialogue between knowledge and belief.

The installation unfolds in three visual movements, blending AI-generated imagery, scientific data visualizations, and spiritual symbology to explore creation as an ongoing act of shared meaning-making.

Artistic Merit

  • Innovation: Combining projection mapping, laser art, and AI-generated visual motifs.
  • Collaboration: Engaging local digital artists, composers, and scientists.
  • Cultural Dialogue: Weaving Indigenous cosmologies into conversations on contemporary science.
  • Accessibility: Free, public, multilingual, and inclusive presentation.
